Who is Jeff Reifman?

Lookahead Consulting is managed by Jeff Reifman, a long time technologist, web developer and technology writer based in the Pacific Northwest.

Jeff’s an eight-year Microsoft veteran. He helped lead the MSN News and MSNBC.com launches as Group Program Manager on super tight schedules. He’s an experienced program manager, software architect and web developer with expertise in cloud-based services, PHP, Yii Framework, and MySQL and a frequent contributor to Tuts+ Code. In the past, he’s also coded in assembly, C, Windows, Ruby on Rails, et al.

He’s founded four companies and raised more than $3 million in venture capital and nonprofit grants.

He’s a three time grantee of the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation for Facebook-based, open source community software and a former technology grantee of the Omidyar Foundation. He led the capture of missing writer Evan Ratliff in Wired Magazine’s Vanish contest.

He’s also a certified yoga instructor and graduate of Off the Mat Into the World’s Advocacy and Leadership training. He’s also the founder of two former not for profit coffeehouses in Seattle and a co-op investor in Fair Trade innovator Equal Exchange. He’s also volunteered teaching yoga in Seattle to youth facing adversity through Street Yoga.
